Activities Above the Local Level
National Convention
National convention was held october 26th-29 the Ames FFA chapter sent 6 members to the convention. While there members attended sessions, participated in the national day of service, met members from around the country, toured area agriculture businesses, and attended a rodeo.
State Convention
In April of 2024, the Ames High FFA chapter attended state convention held in Ames, Iowa. The chapter had seven members attend convention where we went on tour to ISU innovation Center,networked at the career fair, and watched sessions.
Legislative Symposium
Legislative symposium was held on January 31st, 9 of our members attended the FFA legislative symposium in Des Moines. While the chapter was there they listened to several speakers, talked to local legislators, had a chapter lunch, and ended the day with a tour of The World Food Prize where they met former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Ambassador Kenneth Quinn.
Greenhand Fire Up
Greenhand fire up was held on September 28th at Iowa Central Community College in Iowa Falls. Ames FFA sent 35 new members to greenhand fire up, while there members participated in leadership activities, learned more about FFA, and connected with other members from the North Central District.
